A postdoc position in cancer genomics is available for a highly motivated and independent candidate in the group of Dr. Subhajyoti De at Rutgers University Cancer Institute in NJ, USA.

The candidate will be involved in development and application of genomics techniques, primarily based on next generation sequencing platforms, with a focus on cancer research. Dr. De’s group has particular interest in the areas of tumor heterogeneity, single molecule sequencing, genomic instability, and tumor systems biology; and the candidate is expected to contribute to one or more of these areas. There will be opportunities to work in an interdisciplinary team both in clinical and research settings on a variety of high impact, cutting edge projects including those in the Cancer Precision Medicine initiative. The candidate should have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics and related areas. Prior experience in cancer research and genomics technologies (e.g. exome-seq, RNAseq, ChIPseq) is highly desired. Preferences will be given to the candidates who have wet-lab experience as well as ability to analyze NGS datasets. Knowledge and competency in the use of statistical methods and programs is required. The individual must have effective communication, team working, problem solving skills, and adaptability to changes in technological and scientific directions.
