Applications are invited for a Postdoc or Research Staff Scientist in the area of nanobiotechnology at the Institute for Cellular Engineering Technologies, Northwestern University. The candidate will interact closely with the groups of Professors H.D. Espinosa, Jack Kessler, Evangelos Kiskinis, and Joshua Leonard, from the Feinberg School of Medicine and McCormick School of Engineering, Northwestern University. The position will involve research at the intersection of engineering and biology with potential projects being: development of nano and micro technologies for non-destructive cell access and analysis, stem cell research, and disease modeling using 3D cell microenvironments.

Desired Qualifications:
1.    Ph.D. in an engineering discipline or physical/chemical sciences
2.    Experience with microfluidics for cell manipulation and analysis
3.    Working knowledge of electronic instrumentation applied to    electroporation and/or electrophysiology.
4.    Strong verbal and written communication skills
5.    Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in stem cell culture, biological assays (RNA profiling, mass spectroscopy), and confocal microscopy.
