Postdoctoral Research Position in Immunology
The newly established laboratory of Dr. Kaushik Choudhuri, situated in the University of Michigan Medical School, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to undertake an NIH-funded project to investigate the molecular and cell biological mechanisms of antigen recognition by gamma/delta (gd) T cells. We use quantitative high-resolution imaging methods along with proteomic, genetic and functional assays to investigate the cell biology of T cell function. This project will focus on antigen recognition by human Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells, with substantial scope for exploring other related aspects of T cell biology. Applicants with a background in immunology, cell biology or a related discipline are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in recruiting a recently-graduated postdoctoral scientist with experience in T cell biology and quantitative fluorescence microscopy to take the lead in this project. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated scientist, with a good publication record, who is self-motivated and can work independently, can communicate fluently in group interactions and research presentations, and has excellent organizational and record-keeping skills. The department of Microbiology & Immunology offers a collegial and collaborative research environment, with state-of-the-art facilities, and many formal and informal opportunities for trainees’ professional development. The Medical School ranks amongst the top research institutions in the country, and is situated in the University of Michigan Central Campus, close to the heart of Ann Arbor.
To apply, please send a cover letter stating research interests and suitability for this position, CV, and names and email addresses for three references, to Kaushik Choudhuri (kchoud@med.umich.edu).
