One Postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the Department of Oncologic Sciences, Mitchell Cancer Institute at the University of South Alabama. The applicant will work on elucidating the biochemical, molecular and genetic basis of radiosensitivity in non-small cell lung cancers. Projects involve mechanisms underlying repair of radiation-induced DNA damage, receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, and signaling pathways that regulate radiation-induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. A key area of investigation is focused on DNA damage response pathways in hypoxia associated radiation resistance in lung cancer. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, or other related fields, with 0-2 years of post-doctoral research experience and a strong record of creativity and scientific productivity.
