he current vacancy is within the atmospheric modelling group in Lund University and will involve the development and application of numerical models for simulation of clouds and cloud systems. Models are developed and run on Linux platforms. The main development language is FORTRAN, while processing of output is done with MATLAB as well as scripting languages. The research group maintains its own Linux cluster but also uses other HPC facilities, such as those offered by LUNARC (www.lunarc.lu.se). The research group of Dr Phillips at Lund University has a strong track record in creating new cloud models and applying them to tackle problems related to severe weather, cloud glaciation, lightning and mechanisms for aerosol effects on cold clouds.
