The University Department of Paediatrics is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) and OVG Laboratory, based at the Centre of Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine (CCVTM).

The overall objective of the study is to support and accelerate the development of vaccines against encapsulated bacteria. You will be responsible for supervising staff, developing research objectives, projects and proposals, coordinating internal and external project collaborations and monitoring research budgets.

You will have a relevant PhD and research experience and achievement in microbiology or immunology, reflected by a growing reputation and demonstrated success. You will have knowledge and experience of a wide range of techniques, including molecular microbiology and evaluation of vaccine-induced immune responses. You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise junior scientists/students.

This is a full-time post offered for a fixed-term of 9 months in the first instance.
