A postdoctoral position is anticipated for a PhD level engineer/scientist in the Hofstra’s Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory starting from August 1, 2013 or later. The candidate is expected to focus on identifying how microenvironmental cues, including biomechanical stimulation, influence vascular endothelial cells. Extensive experience with tissue culture, cell and molecular biology, fluorescent imaging and flow cytometry is required. Past research experiences in atomic force microscopy, flow cytometry, microfluidic devices and vascular biology is required. The successful applicant will be required to train undergraduate students in these procedures. The Lab is equipped with an Asylum MFP-3D-BIO AFM, HR-2 Discovery Rheometer, Connex 3D Printer, Zeiss Axio Observer Z1 Fluorescent Microscope, BD FACSVerse Flow Cytometer, Bioflux Microfluidic System and qPCR machine. Applicants should be capable of independent experimental design and manuscript preparation.
