Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available to investigate physiological role and regulation of ion channels in pain and neurological diseases. We have identified a new group of ion channel auxiliary proteins, designated as BK channel gamma-subunits, and currently investigate their physiological or therapeutic relevance in pain and neurological diseases (see 2012 PNAS 109:7917-22 & 2010 Nature 466:513-6).
Job Requirements
Candidates are expected to have a PhD degree (obtained within three years) with good knowledge and experience in murine neuroanatomy and surgery. Prior research experience in patch-clamp recording of brain or spinal cord slices or behavioral tests of pain or neurological disorders using murine animal models is preferred.
