This 3 year position is available at the University of Edinburgh from 1 October 2013. The successful candidate will research and build novel multi-channel opto-electronic instrumentation systems for tomography, and will validate them in an aero engine test-bed, in the 2.7 million FLITES project (see www.flites.eu). The FLITES consortium will establish a world-leading capability in chemical species tomography of aero engine exhaust plumes, bringing together the Universities of Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton and Strathclyde, along with several company partners, notably Rolls-Royce and Shell.
