This a full time hands on laboratory research dedicated to characterizing regulators of death receptors including the Fas death receptor. This lab has identified several direct acting proteins regulators of Fas and the aim is to demonstrate the regulation and how this potent pathway is modified by biological agents in killing of tumor cells. We have develop animal models to study regulators or apoptosis (Blood 2011; 118:3107-3108). Transgenic and knock mouse models are available to address roles of regulars of death receptor function. The successful candidate will have a tract record of productivity in research and have the talent and dedication to take advantage of the wide range of resources available at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the rest of the Texas Medical Center.
