One postdoctoral fellowship is immediately available in the Translational Laboratories in Genetic Medicine at the A*STAR Institute and the National University of Singapore for enthusiastic and motivated candidates with interest in basic and translational research on disease pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and metabolic diseases. The successful candidates will use a range of in vitro and in vivo techniques to study lipid metabolism and its role in atherosclerosis and metabolic disease. We are interested in MD and/or PhD applicants with strong foundations in in vivo characterization of animal models, generation of models in vivo and in vitro, as well as elucidating the molecular mechanism involved in the phenotypes observed. Experience in cell and molecular biology and protein biochemistry are also essential, as is the ability to work independently, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written. In addition, first authorship on at least two publications is needed.
