A postdoctoral position in structural biology is available in the laboratory of Dr. John Cavanagh in the Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry at North Carolina State University.

This position will be part of a large team investigating the inhibition of signal transduction pathways involved in antibiotic resistance mechanisms. Our group is currently elucidating the mechanism of action of a family of compounds that overcome resistance traits and re-sensitize multi-drug resistant bacteria to conventional antibiotic treatment.

Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas: protein expression, protein NMR/X-ray crystallography, computational modeling, general bioanalytical techniques (SPR, ITC, mass spectrometry).

A competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. Applications should include a detailed cover letter, CV, a list of publications and the names of three references familiar with the applicant’s work.
