The University of Chicago Department of Psychology is engaging in a systematic expansion of the faculty over the next several years, beginning with the hiring of three new faculty members this year at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are interested in a variety of target areas, but particularly individuals who do research in the areas of Cognition (including Perception), Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology. We are also interested in a variety of approaches to psychological science, including neuroscience methods, animal models, and studies of behavior. Exceptional candidates whose research demonstrates a strong potential for interdisciplinary connections within the Department and across the University are especially encouraged to apply. For information about the faculty, department, and interdisciplinary opportunities, see http://psychology.uchicago.edu/about/index.shtml. Applicants must apply online at the University of Chicago’s Academic Career Opportunities website at http://tinyurl.com/nflx8dw. Applications are required to include 1) a brief cover letter, 2) a current curriculum vita, 3) a statement of research interests and 4) a teaching statement. In addition, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit, as optional, up to three representative publications. Also, three letters of reference are required to be submitted online. Ph.D. must be in hand by start of appointment as Assistant Professor. Full consideration will be given to dossiers of material (including letters from referees) complete as of October 1, 2013, though the search will remain open until appointments have been filled or until the application deadline of March 31, 2014. Early application is encouraged. The University of Chicago is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
