1. Joint Post-doctoral Training Program
IPS-CAS and Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center –Joint Research Center in Infection and Immunity have launched a postdoctoral training program. Now this program opens to young scientists from all over the world.
This program focuses on translational medicine, and any candidates who have experience or expertise in infection and immunology, or its related fields, are encouraged to apply for. Our program is featured by dual-mentor system from both the Institute and the Medical Center, post-doctor research fund (up to 0.5 million RMB), and multiple training sites with an emphasis on translational studies from basic bench work to clinical application. Candidates should have a recent PhD or its related degree, under the age of 35, self-motivated, fluent in either Chinese or English, with a tracking record of successful graduate training. People from any minority are also encouraged to apply for. The salary and benefit will be highly competitive, dependent on the qualification. However, once successfully enrolled, and minimal annual income should be no less than 220.000 RMB before tax (3,000RMB housing allowance inclusive), in addition to attractive incentive awards for publications and grants.
The following topics or disciplines are our top priority, although other research fields can also receive considerations.

3. Brief Introduction of the Parties
a.Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center
Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center was established in 2006, integrating the former Guangzhou Children’s Hospital and former Guangzhou Maternity Health Care Center. Covering an area of 37 thousand square meters and a built-up area of 130 thousand square meters, the hospital is equipped with 1,500 beds. Among the 2,603 staff, 282 is holding senior titles, 573 has received master level education or above and 47 of them are MD or MS mentors. The Hospital has greatly enhanced its capacity building. By now, two specialties have been honorably recognized as National Key Clinical Specialties entitled by the Ministry of Health, six as Guangdong Key Clinical Disciplines or Specialties, and one as Key Medical Laboratories listed in Guangdong “12th Five Year Plan”. It has been authorized to set up National Post-Doctoral Research Station. Affiliated Guangzhou Medical University, it also serves as a teaching, training and internship base for Sun Yat-sen University, South China Medical University and Jinan University Graduate School.
The hospital has evolved to be a high-level, comprehensive and multi-disciplinary health care institution, integrating the function of medical and healthcare, prevention, research and education.
b.Institut Pasteur of Shanghai – Chinese Academy of Sciences
Institut Pasteur of Shanghai – Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPS-CAS) is a scientific research institute founded in 2004 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shanghai Municipal Government, and the Institut Pasteur in Paris. It is a member of the Institut Pasteur International Network (IPIN), the WHO and other NGOs. IPS-CAS creates synergies between the Institut Pasteur and CAS networks, leveraging all the assets of Shanghai as one of Asia’s leading business and technology hubs. Our scientists are engaged in a broad range of infectious disease research programs ranging from viral hepatitis, HIV, respiratory infections to virus-induced cancers.
IPS-CAS is in an ideal strategic position to conduct research and development in life sciences in China. Together with its academic and industry partners, IPS’s goal is to develop product candidates in the field of diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics.
