Human Development and Family Sciences Program at Texas State University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to work with an incoming Assistant Professor, Dr. Eunjin Seo, on her research projects on the dynamic interplay between motivation, achievement, and well-being during adolescence and emerging adulthood.

The research projects will pay particular attention to how developmental contexts can deplete or fuel the psychological resources of students who are structurally disadvantaged and minoritized (e.g., how does peer mindset influence Black and Latinx students' belongingness and persistence in STEM?).

The responsibility of the position involves data collection, data analyses, preparation of publications, assistance in grant writing, and conference presentations. The postdoctoral fellow will also receive training in meta-analysis and systematic review. The initial appointment will be one year with the possibility of renewal for up to two years. The position is subject to the availability of funds.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in

Human Development, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

· Substantive knowledge and background in the field of adolescent/emerging adult development in school settings

· Advanced quantitative skills (e.g., multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, social network analysis, machine learning)

· Strong writing ability and publication records
