Seeking a Full time or Part-time postdoctoral research fellow with experience in implementation science and/or qualitative research skills.

THE ROLE

Salary Package: From $97,621 to $104,622 (Level A) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

Appointment Type: Full time or Part time, two year appointment

Macquarie University (North Ryde) location

The Centre is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background in implementation science and/or qualitative research skills within a health- related field such as, health services research medicine, medical humanities, or psychology.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior researchers from the Australian Institute of Health Innovation Institute (AIHI) and the Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS), building a portfolio of research relating to the development and implementation of innovative tools for melanoma and non-melanoma cancers. They will undertake literature reviews, conduct interviews, and write publications, while also presenting study outputs and liaising with leading academics in the field.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic researcher with an understanding of implementation science and how to apply qualitative research to health services questions. You will enjoy working both independently and as part of a team and will be able and willing to take part in team activities such as group analysis work. You will have excellent time-management skills, being able to meet tight deadlines, prioritising work accordingly and adapt workloads as necessary. Previous experience in cancer research is desirable but not necessary.

The Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science ( CHRIS) is part of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science and, has a successful track record of undertaking research and evaluation projects on health sector issues since 1991. Its core interest is to investigate issues of policy, governance and leadership in the health sector. It is involved in conducting original research into clinical governance issues, providing a scholarly capability by which to evaluate health sector policies, programs and projects, and contributing to undergraduate medical, postgraduate health services management, and public health and doctoral education.

Selection criteria:

A PhD or equivalent in a relevant health-related discipline (e.g. health services research, implementation science, medical sciences, sociology, medical anthropology, psychology)

Experience of successfully applying qualitative methods to healthcare data or similar

An understanding of implementation science

Ability to conduct literature searches

An ability to collect and analyse qualitative data

Experience with the preparation of manuscripts for publication

Organisation skills such as in coordinating project meetings, planning research projects and meeting deadlines

An ability to work with a range of stakeholders across healthcare including clinicians, patients and consumers etc.

Demonstrated ability to prioritise different work demands, and multi-task

Demonstrable research track record
