WHO WE ARE

At IIT we work enthusiastically to develop Science and Technology to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our times and transfer these technologies to the production system and society. Our Genoa headquarter is strictly inter-connected with our 11 centres around Italy and two outer- stations based in the US for a truly interdisciplinary experience.

YOUR TEAM

You'd be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where expert material scientists, chemists, physicists, and mechanical and biomedical engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. The research group is led by Dr. Virgilio Mattoli, who has extensive experience in micro/nanofabrication, two-photon lithography, conformable electronics and sensors.

The research focuses on the development of a novel, multi-parameter optical system which can enable the 3D printing of micro/nanosctructures via two- photon polymerization processes and the dynamic tuning of the properties of the printed materials. This also include the possible characterization of the MEMS and microarchitectures fabricated by the partners of the project.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

The design, assembly, and testing of the optical system

Optimization of the optical system to answer the possibile fabrication and materials needs

This open position/research is financed by the European Commission within the H2020 program FET Open project ‘Functional & Dynamic 3D Nano- MicroDevices by Direct Multi-Photon Lithography' (5DNanoPrinting) – Grant Number 899349. The project brings together a consortium of academic institutions and industrial partners to define a new paradigm in the fabrication of MEMS and functional microstructures through 3D printing via direct laser writing.
