Key responsibilities

Do you enjoy working in a team and have a strong interest in research projects involving advanced data analytics and data science? Then join us as a postdoctoral researcher at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research. In this role, you will conduct independent research and participate in a variety of non-interventional studies measuring the safety, and effectivity of medicines in daily clinical practice. This will be done in cooperation with three assistant professors in the field of phenoconversion, population pharmacokinetic and dynamic modeling and pharmacoepidemiology. You will work in a team with PhD students and undergraduate students, allowing (further) development of your supervision and leadership skills.

Selection criteria

  PhD in data science or biostatistics, with proven experience and interest in (bio)pharmaceutical epidemiological research

  has scientific creativity and productivity, as evident in recent publications in (international) peer-reviewed journals;

  has excellent English communication skills, both verbal and in writing (requirement);

  has a proficiency in statistical software (preferably R);

  shows initiative and can effectively work on multiple projects;

  Experience in supervision is a plus

The Leiden Academic Center for Drug Research (LACDR) is a leading institute in the field of innovative drug research and education. Multidisciplinary drug research coupled with the training of young researchers is the primary mission of LACDR. Since September 2016, the LACDR, together with the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), has also been training pharmacists within the Master's degree programme Pharmacy, which is characterized by a strong focus on pharmaceutical patient care and pharmaceutical treatment. Within LACDR, the pharmacy education is organized by the pharmacy team, a relatively new group of dedicated researchers and lecturers. The research of the Pharmacy team at LACDR focusses on the development of predictive models to improve clinical drug safety. There is a strong collaboration in Pharmacy Leiden, which brings together the fundamental drug research performed at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) with patient-focused research at the Leiden University Medical Centre with the overall aim to improve human health by delivering the most suitable drug treatment for each individual patient.

Terms and conditions

We offer a full-time appointment of initially one year starting January 1st, 2022. After a positive evaluation of the progress of the research, the appointment will be extended for another two years. Salary range from € 2,836,- to € 4,474,- gross per month (pay scale 10 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
