Job Description:

We seek an enthusiastic candidate for the position of postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Anatoly (Tony) Nikolaev, radiation oncology physician-scientist at the Florida Research and Innovation Center, Cleveland Clinic Florida. The post-doctoral position is for highly motivated candidates with a background in animal models of cancer, molecular/cellular biology, immunology, cancer biology, and/or genetics to join a research group interested in cancer drug discovery, multi-omics, and immunotherapy research.   Projects will involve using molecular cell biological, immunological, and genomics strategies to identify and characterize genetic determinants of cancer progression and therapeutic response.  Applicants should hold a PhD and/or MD degree and have strong laboratory and analytical skills.  Experience in animal models of cancer, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, bioinformatics, or cancer genetics would be very helpful.

The Cleveland Clinic Florida Research and Innovation Center (CC-FRIC) is dedicated to the discovery and advancement of innovative translational research focused on infectious diseases and immuno-oncology. The Center is an exceptional state-of-the-art facility and has Shared Resource Flow Cytometry, Imaging, Bioinformatics, and BSL-3/ABSL-3 facilities https://www.lerner.ccf.org/fric/. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Conducts research focused on cancer drug discovery, immunology, and cancer genomics.

-Plans, organizes, performs and monitors daily project protocols.

-Collects, prepares and maintains required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes and medical reports.

-Reports and assists with the management of protocol deviations, adverse events and other project-related issues.

-Assists with the preparation and delivery of internal/external presentations, conference reports/lectures, and publishing submissions.

EDUCATION:

PhD in an appropriate scientific field such as Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or other similar science major.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
