Postdoctoral Fellow Positions in Advanced Protein/Complex Purification, Computational Biology, Macromolecular Structure Determination, and Drug Design
We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals to integrate computational/molecular modeling, complex purification and structure determination, and functional biochemical assays as a part of our research team. A primary focus of our group seeks to understand the structure, assembly and regulation of multi-subunit phosphatase complexes. Additionally, we seek to understand the structure-function relationship of complexes that regulate telomere maintenance and prostaglandin signaling in stem cell differentiation and tissue regeneration. The detailed information garnered from the basic science is used to develop pharmacological agents. Experience in computational, biophysical, biochemical, or structural application and/or advanced protein expression (insect/mammalian cell culture) and purification strategies will be considered important advantages. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working to develop small molecule inhibitors and activators. Several positions, sponsored by NIH and Biotech, are immediately available.
Applicant qualifications include a strong background in any of the following areas:
1) Protein expression and purification in mammalian and/or insect cell culture;
2) Electron microscopy, x-ray crystallography, or NMR spectroscopy of biological specimens;
3) Computational Biology, including molecular dynamic simulations or modeling;
4) Quantitative Biophysics, Biochemistry, or Structural Biology
Interested candidates should e-mail a cover letter, CV, publications list, and names and contact information for three references to Dr. Derek Taylor. (derek.taylor@case.edu).
