It was founded under an international legal framework to perform interdisciplinary research, deploy and communicate nanotechnology for the benefit of society. INL aims to be a recognised leading global nanotechnology innovation hub.

Project Specifications: This project is funded by Programa Operacional Fatores de Competitividade (POFC)/Compete

Name of the project: Mobilizador Baterias 2030

Reference number: 14/SI/2019 - PROGRAMAS MOBILIZADORES

Introduction

Are you an experienced Researcher? / Would you like to be a key player in the introduction of renewable energies in an urban living laboratory using batteries? INL is seeking a qualified researcher in the area of perovskite solar cells. Further experience in any kind of batteries and thermoelectrics will be beneficial for the project integration. The selected candidate will be working with the Nanofabrication for Optoelectronics Applications (NOA) Group. NOA's Research Group focus in the incorporation of nanotechnology in optoelectronic devices with a strong industrial and innovation potential. The core competences of the group are bottom-up nanofabrication and characterization of optoelectronic materials and devices. NOA´s nanofabrication cornerstone is INL´s cutting edge and semi- industrial clean room facilities. Moreover, the vast international experience of the group members in semiconductor materials is the backbone of the characterization capacities. The conjugation of these both competences are the steppingstones allowing to collaborate with international industrial and academic partners.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to participate actively in activities related to the research and development of new thin film solar cells and modules to be integrated in a living laboratory as well as contribute to thermoelectrics research. The candidate will be expected to model, fabricate and characterize solar modules in collaboration with the project partners. The candidate will also be expected manage the INLs participation in the project work package 3. The candidate should demonstrate independence and creativity in preparing, executing and optimizing solar modules, as well as in preparing and performing characterization of thermoelectric materials. Moreover, the candidate will work closely with the other group members participating in the project and will prepare the necessary experimental reporting
