Funded by a FNR CORE grant, the Cancer Metabolism group within the Department of Oncology ofLIH, is seeking a dedicated Post-Doctoral Fellow.

This project will focus on the analysis of iPSC derived astrocytes and neurons carrying PD specific mutations. The project is funded by a joint grant between the Grünewald, Krueger and Meiser lab at LCSB (University of Luxembourg) and LIH, respectively. This specific project part will be carried out within the Meiser lab to study the metabolism of the aforementioned disease models.
The successful candidate will be embedded in a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Department of Oncology composed of more than 85 staff members.
KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Successful PhD in the area of biology, systems biology or biotechnology
Must have: Hands-on experience in experimental lab work and iPSC cultures
Must have: Experience in metabolism, Mass Spectrometry and stable isotope- assisted metabolic flux analysis
Must have: Analysis of mitochondrial integrity in iPSC derived neurons and astrocytes using life cell imaging
Experience in the field of Neurodegeneration esp. Parkinson's Disease
Computational skills (using R, MATLAB or similar) would be of advantage
Open-minded, self-driven and curious person, willing to work in a competitive, interdisciplinary and international environment
