 Postdoctoral Position at Dartmouth

  Dartmouth College

The Hill lab at Dartmouth has an NIH funded position for a postdoctoral fellow to study neuron-glia interactions in the brain. The lab uses state-of-the-art structural and functional optical imaging (multiphoton and confocal) to investigate myelin generation, plasticity, and pathology in the cerebral cortex. Recent publications include long term in vivo imaging and investigations of myelin generation and plasticity (Hill et al. Nature Neuroscience 2018, Nature Methods 2014, Nature Neuroscience 2014), development of a novel technique for single cell ablation (Hill et al. Nature Communications 2017) and in vivo investigations of neurovascular coupling (Hill et al. Neuron 2015).

Applicants must be enthusiastic and highly motivated to study and explore cell-cell interactions in the brain and have a PhD in a related field (neurobiology, cell biology, genetics, biomedical engineering, etc.). Experience with animal surgery, optical imaging, genetic manipulation, and/or neuron-glia interactions are advantageous, but not required.

The lab is in the Biological Sciences department in the newly built Life Sciences Center immediately adjacent to the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. We are members of the Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program and the Program in Experimental and Molecular Medicine. Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire in the Upper Valley region of the Connecticut River.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter, CV, and contact information for 2-3 references to robert.hill@dartmouth.edu. Additional information can be found on the lab website: https://sites.dartmouth.edu/robert-hill-lab/ or through email.
