  Job Description

  The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate. This individual will be responsible for performing a wide variety of experiments in a research laboratory studying the innate immune regulator STING and its role in influencing inflammatory disease as well as cancer. Objectives will be to evaluate novel STING-dependent adjuvants for the immunotherapeutic treatment of cancer as well as in new vaccine concepts to prevent infectious diseases and cancer.

  Minimum Qualifications

  PhD in Microbiology and Immunology. Experience with cell culture, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR. Strong experience in T-cells assays (CTL), ELISA, cancer models and immunotherapy. Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry knowledge is required. The incumbent will also be performing in vivo experiments using murine models. Strong experience with animal experiments and a strong knowledge of immunology is required; cell biology preferred. The candidate will need to be able to convey information effectively, to work independently, and to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong analytical skills are required. Individual must possess advanced scientific knowledge and be capable of exercising considerable latitude for independent judgement, perform non-routine and complex laboratory duties requiring advanced technical skills and proficiency for divisional faculty. Will receive general supervision from the PI of the laboratory.

  Patient safety is a top priority.
