Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiovascular, Regenerative and Metabolic Research
The Feinberg Research Institute seeks a qualified individual for a newly available Postdoctoral Fellow position in the laboratory of Hossein Ardehali.
There are three major projects in the lab: 1) studying the role of various cellular proteins in cardiac, hepatic and cancer metabolism, 2) role of mRNA-binding proteins in cell regeneration, and 3) characterization of cellular and mitochondrial iron homeostasis. Using mouse models, histology, cell culture, differential expression analyses, and molecular biology assays, our lab studies the molecular mechanisms that regulate metabolic processes and iron homeostasis both in the cytoplasm and mitochondria.
Highly motivated candidates who possess a PhD or MD degree and have a strong background in molecular biology and physiology are encouraged to apply. Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, and the names and contact information for three references to Hossein Ardehali h-ardehali@northwestern.edu.
