　　Job Description

　　The Division of Materials Science and Engineering with Iowa State University at the Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.

　　This Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform molecular dynamics simulation to investigate the effect of solutes on the dislocation migration analyze the obtained results, develop a theory for this effect. The obtained results will be passed to a higher level simulation such ability to communicate with people performing the discrete dislocation dynamics and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is desirable.

　　The ideal candidate is able to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences, is comfortable working in a cross-cutting, multidisciplinary research environment, and is a self-motivated individual who is willing to take initiative and leadership of research problems.

　　Required Qualifications: Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date.

　　Preferred Qualifications: 1) Demonstrated experience running MD codes using parallel processors (experience with LAMMPS is required). 2) Previous experience in MD simulation of the dislocation migration. 3) Demonstrated experience performing ab initio calculations. 4) Experience in simulation of oxide systems.
